How saline removal works
A saline solution is implanted into the pigmented area using the same technique that put the pigment there. Osmosis draws pigment up towards the surface, where it leaves with the scab as the area heals. It is slower than laser but it removes all pigment colours equally, including the whites, oranges and light browns that laser struggles with or can turn black, and it is safe to use close to the eye and on the lip, where laser is not.
Set your expectations on sessions, not one visit
Most cases need three to six sessions spaced eight weeks apart. Heavily saturated old work, or work applied deep into the dermis, can need more. Each session lifts a percentage rather than clearing an area, so progress is visible but gradual. Anyone promising complete removal in one visit is either inexperienced or not being straight with you.
Lightening for a cover-up, not full removal
A large share of removal clients do not want the pigment gone entirely. They want it light enough that a new, better-shaped brow can be applied over it. That target is usually reached in two or three sessions rather than six, which makes it both faster and cheaper. If a correction is your goal, say so at the start, because it changes the plan.
Questions
Saline Removal, answered
Typically three to six, spaced eight weeks apart, depending on how saturated and how deep the original pigment is.
Near the eye, yes. Saline is also colour-blind, whereas laser can oxidise certain pigments and turn them darker.
Not when spaced correctly and aftercare is followed. Rushing sessions closer than eight weeks apart is the main scarring risk.
