Designed on your eye, not from a template
A wing that works is drawn to your eye shape, your lid crease and the way your eye actually sits when open, not copied from a reference photo. Hooded lids, downturned outer corners and asymmetric eyes each need a different angle and length, and the only way to know is to draw it on, have you open your eyes, look in a mirror, and adjust. That happens before any pigment is implanted and it is the part of the appointment that matters most.
What it is like to sit for
Two hours, with topical numbing applied to the lid. Eyes stay closed for the working passes. Most clients find the lash line itself surprisingly comfortable and the wing, which sits on ordinary skin rather than the lid margin, even easier. Mild swelling for 24 to 48 hours is normal and looks like you slept badly, not like anything alarming.
Healing rules that are not optional
No eye makeup, no mascara, no swimming and no rubbing for ten days. Lashes should not be curled or tinted for two weeks. If you wear contact lenses, plan to be in glasses for the first 48 hours. Flaking on the lid is normal around days four to seven. Let it come away on its own, because picking at eyelid skin is how you end up with a gap in the line.
Questions
Winged Eyeliner, answered
Most clients report it as comparable or slightly easier. The lid is well numbed and the sessions are shorter per side than a full brow.
Absolutely, once fully healed. Many clients treat their permanent liner as the everyday baseline and add more for evenings.
Longer than brows, typically three to five years, because the lid area sees far less sun and much less exfoliating skincare.
